Voltarol penetrates the skin to bring direct relief from pain and inflammation to the affected area. Its soothing, calming formula is non-greasy and non-staining.
For the local symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in trauma of the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints (e.g. due to sprains, strains and bruises) and localised forms of soft tissue rheumatism.
Adults: depending on the size of the affected site to be treated 2-4g (a circular shaped mass approximately 2-2.5cm in diameter) should be applied 3-4 times a day. Rub gently onto the skin. Limit treatment to 7 days.
White gel containing: Diclofenac diethylammonium 1.16% w/w
Do not use if:
- You have experienced problems in the past with aspirin, ibuprofen or related painkillers (including when taken by mouth), especially where associated with a history of asthma, allergic rhinitis or urticaria.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if:
- You have ever suffered from asthma.
- You have a stomach ulcer (peptic or gastric ulcer).
- You have ever suffered from kidney problems.
- You have ever shown intolerance to aspirin or ibuprofen taken by mouth.
When aspirin or other Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) tablets are taken concurrently, it is important to bear in mind that these may increase the incidence of undesirable effects.
